Fake? He must be a pensioner by now?

I refer you to the first post of this thread: the boy-band dancing - are those the moves of some blue collar criminal driving through the New Jersey turnpike in stolen car having got drunk on too much Tanqueray and wine whilst being all on fire looking for his down bound train having been born to run in the USA, or is it someone with 57 working class characters going on in his brain, but not one of them real?

Bruce is an archetype: Italian-American, northeastern, working class but with aspirations of a better life. He hits all the right buttons with his demographic. Supermarkets in New Jersey sell Bruce t-shirts on the isles (I saw this the last time I was in Jersey).

I really tried to get into his music. After reading so many reviews and having close friends that were actual buddies  with Bruce and the band. But alas, I will never be a fan and his music never touched me or provided me with any joy. For all the allocates, I have failed to "connect" with his sound.

But then again, I'm not his intended audience.

I do respect the guy for being passionate and seemingly true to the persona he created and sustained over the decades. Certain people do connect with his music on a very primal level. And to some extent, I genuinely admire any artist who can attain and maintain that type of connection.

Indeed, why do we seem to think that rock must somehow must be 100% authentic that it's perfomers are the stage act themselves. Perhaps it loses some of it's power when we realise that after all it's only panto?

As for Bish... well, he's not with us at the moment, as far as we know.   Time will tell if he comes back to join us.
