Alden BLACK cordovan loafers - to buy or not to buy
For slightly less formal business situations?
But - these days it was very sunny, my #8 colour loafers were very warm on my feet.

having once had a pair of black Serbagos, I must say that I can't get behind this idea, particularly in cordovan.

I find them a house divided against themselves. The loafer, casual while the color (and here, the glossy material) is dressier.

I've got the full strap black cordovans. They are perfect for the situation you describe. I use them to see patients on consults all the time.
I have polished them to a high gloss and used them with a tux, go ahead and flame me.
Cógelo suave, pero cógelo.

no flames, those are great shoes, love the full-strap, so they're more preppy or even Modern Trad than Ivy ... I still like them, especially if they draw flames that cause fewer net people to wear them .....

I have to say that Alden black cordo is a great leather. I’m stunned though to see how the prices have really risen in the last 5-10 years.
