Look!
Even this thread is now on page 2!
Somehow the Trad universe is coming together tonight...
You've done it, Jack. You've made it happen at last...
Oh dear, Paper Clip has remembered my violations...
I hope the tide will not now turn and the forum show me it's dark face of displeasure.
I shall, watch with my breath, held.
For mcpbs,

I wish my friends could be with me to see all this...
Vaclav.
Mr. Horace.
Shooey.
See what's happening?
Just as Vaclav has always said - Love. Love is happening.
And the Trad is at peace.
You have taught me a new word & I thank you.
I will never question your gentlehood.
J.
OK -
Time to end all this. I'm not Brutus.
Brutus is an innocent bystander in all this & I have abused his good name this evening. I owe him a drink.
But you see how it is on the Net?
Nobody is anybody and things are never as they seem.
Sorry Brutus.
I hope some Andy love still remains for me... ?
j.
Maybe they've got the virtual cricket bats ready for you.....ouch!
When will I ever find the love I crave...?
Is Dead Man's Tweed , a trad Lazarus ?
Sadly, I am nobody. Although that is who I like to be.
Important to clear Brutus's name I thought, after I'd borowed it.
I hope he's a sport.
Arthur: Whatever Brutus Pm'd you is kosher. Good luck flogging your kit.
That's that I guess. Nice to play with the other guys elsewhere. I do actually like MPCSB too.
Have a drink & think of me -
Russell
"let the guy run with the ball, whilst there is no love lost between us,I am able to conceed he does have wit and plainly intelegence,If nothing else his posts as Russell street generated some intresting discussion on the forum and opened up new avenues of thought.
lets face it one would be wise to higher a poacher as a gamekeeper." T.B-D, AAAT.
Tom - Thank you. I'd actually like a chat with you at some point. We'll need to find a no man's land... SF maybe?
I think what you need is a English Trad forum. Others would thrive there too & it's odd that we don't have one. DougNZ was moving in that direction post 'Fogey', but I suspect it all got a little bit squashed by the Andy Mods.
AAAT is meant to be American Ivy League but for a while the forum has been all over the shop. I've no problem with your politics but I thought that to try to kick the Andy Trads of their downward spiral they needed to be steered away from tradition and conservative values when it came to discussing clothes. So in much the same way I've picked on Mr. Harris for his rich fantasy life I picked on you for your traditionalism.
In both cases most unfair.
It's all a game anyway, as I suspect you are more than well aware.
All the best & we'll find a way to chat -
David
I am enjoying this far more than a grown man with a life should.
I almost feel...dirty.
Cheers to all.
I'll check Andyland & mop up if I need to.
It got some of us through the evening, eh?
I'd rather be indulging in Mrs Sparrow's quiche to be honest, but then again...whatcha gonna do?
j.
All is kosher with da Andy Trads. So no harm done.
Poor Brutus tho'. Who'd post on these MBs?
!!
Hot damn, mon chere! Neither of us have been le banned yet! Maybe they love us after all...
Ah, much too modest ole Jackie boy! On reflection, I think we are both #1 Stunnas. Lurch! Bring us some pumpkin tea!
In Trandyland right now, it's The Night of The Living Trolls...
... And it's a dumb observation, but I'll make it anyway (that's my job):
Forums should welcome trolls and use them for their own ends. So should regular forum members. They add vitality and stimulate debate. Negative, harmful, damaging trolling can only happen if the Mods and the regular Joes encourage it to happen. With a troll it's the respondees who do the damage, not the troll with his little thought-bombs.
And context is everything.
I still think that this forum is untrollable becasue we just don't care about trolls.
If you post stupidly here we can tell you so. We don't have to pretend to be Gentlemen (although we do have many genuinely Gentlemanly members I feel).
I attract trolls and I like it because I know it makes good reading. Ditto when & if I ever go out trolling myself.
Forums get very stale very quickly. Without views coming in from left field most are unreadable. The troll's job (intentional or not) is to add a little interesting spice to the pot. The forum's job is to take his input & use it to their own ends by making their discussions more lively.
No?
