Here's all i know about Dylan, beyond that story of the cord being cut when he went electric.
He had (has?) a satellite radio show where he discussed music and revealed his having ability to read lyric with perfect flatness, not imparting an ounce of the melody into them. A bad singer turns out to have a knack for forcing listeners to focus on lyrics.
Don McLean's "American Pie" lyrics about the jester dancing for the king and queen in the coat he borrowed from James Dean alledgedly refer to Dylan, who performed for the Queen once, and his "The Freewheeling Bob Dylan" album cover

Shall we start a thread on Norah Jones, that will likely prove more controversial than Bobby Dylan!
Sharpening my pitchfork and soaking my torch in fuel.....
been reading Nik Cohn for years ... good old Pinball Wizard ... some of Awopbop is good, some is very jejune ....
this is what he has to say about Awopbop:
"Cohn’s own estimation of “Awopbop” is absolutely Cohnlike in its flair for artful hyperbole and delivering a knockout punch: “What my writing had in those days was spontaneous combustion, terrific forward thrusts of energy,” he told me not long ago when I went to visit him on Shelter Island in New York. “Even if it was rubbish — vast, loud, strong rubbish.”"

If I had to discard one group's catalog, between The Beatles and the Stones, the Stones would have to go. I like a lot of Stones stuff, but I've derived far more pleasure over the years from The Beatles' stuff. I could care less about the majority of Rolling Stones material after Brian went for a swim.
George and Ringo were the best Beatles by a factor of about 10,000.
I always felt Ringo and I would get along great.
