As wrong as it is, it would be an improvement over the empty-shirt look of the the man with a suit and no tie.
God I hope so.
Well.. .Hello...I've been here, just waiting for this moment!
I've always thought the cravat and versions thereof, ascots, kerchiefs etc, should make a proper comeback.
There is some support for this as scarves are popular amongst men and many are getting small enough to be kerchiefs. Added to this the Terry Thomas type characters are now long long ago in movies - perhaps enough to end their hegemony over the cravat.
Its immensely practical and stylish. I've long held that the sight of a mans neck region is second only to scraggy ugliness to the sight of scrotum and dangling appendages in the pantheon of bad looks. Well except for male ankles.
I know my mate shooey is a big cravat fan.
This bloke is a Chap - but doesn't seem to take himself too seriously. So its clearly not Dud.

Like the kids with bow ties, once some trendy mass-marketer starts selling them, people will start buying and wearing. Right now, you have to already be an enthusiast to know they exist and go search them out.
Ouch.

5th dimension Dud...5th dimension. The 4th dimension is 'time'.
Anyway, you're clearly a Cravat wearer, do you use a wangee cigarette holder too? A monocle? Pince-nez at the very least?
I suspect that with the death of both formalwear and neckwear, that the cravat may be the only survivor. People will wear them for weddings, school proms, funerals...
Way too much negative connotation to overcome.
