You might, and I mean, just might, get away with Moore's look with a little tweaking...Make the jacket out of bottle green fine wale cord for example The cut, looks like a SBPL if so, it can provide a contemporary anchor. The shirt looks fun...in a Festive way.

A good looking young bloke could 'rock that' as they say in fora land.

The Persuaders has a great wardrobe. Moore designed much of his own stuff. He was knowledgeable, as were his contemporaries Stamp and Caine.

You have no chance with the ones you've posted as they make no contemporary sense, there's no anchor.

I just can't see it crossing the rubicon of it's association. I mean, it's literally the most elitist and pompous thing this side of a monocle in terms of connotation in modern society. The monocle might actually be more acceptable now that I think about it.

This shouldn't be seen as an attempt to deter anyone from it, and I'm sure the most enterprising of us could do it, but there's no way I can see this a mass trend. It wasn't even a mass trend when the Moody Blues were doing it, it was just a few artist types. It hasn't been common in a hundred years.
