Fantastic texture FNB.
Nice. What "dressed up" nice denim would like to be.

I'm not sure what mill made the linen I have, but it's turned fantastically soft over the years. It's a must carry for me whenever I am in the islands.
The famous "Palm beach" cloth by Goddall, was a blend of mohair/cotton.
Another variant was mohair/linen.
So the thing is not new.
Blends with mohair and cotton,or linen or silk are the best for summer cloth.
Is that a photo artifact or is the lining iridescent?
Couldn't do it. Love to see someone who could though, who be a interesting case study.
Holland and Sherry do a Denim in their Contemporary Cottons book.
I have a psychological barrier that won't allow me to use denim on anything other than jeans. I'm not sure if I will ever be able to get over it honestly.
I think these Denims would be more refined than that used for Jeans.
I think Filmy had his tailor make some Jeans out of some Japanese selvedge denim.
I'm sure Nutters made suits out of Denim in the 60s/70s.
I would style it very Formal, SBPL B1....
I'm at my tailors tomorrow, I'll have chat. I'll have a look at that old Crispaire book for you too.

Certainly. It's just a jean jacket association I can't shake. Maybe it has something to do with forming experiences in the 1980's, but there is always a little nagging voice there.
I would like to see someone doing it well though. THe Nutter stuff was great, along with a lot of other things he did. FIt the time and the people perfectly. I could never do it though.
Cheers on the Crispaire.
We do need to talk about it,sunshine: what are you doing in Crompie's site? If you need an analyst, just you let Uncle Bertie know. Deenim suits? They are up there with bespoke bomber jackets and frogged and knotted pea-jackets. They're the bees' knees if you can blog-blag them for free.
I always thought that mohair was for wide-boys - just as corduroy used to be the choice of guys 'safe in taxis'.
