Family is pulling the plug on a long time friend / coworker tonight. Nothing uplifting in my rotation.

Just popped on the Stone Roses debut... an almost perfect piece of pop.

She Bangs The Drums seemed to always be playing in Mrs. WM's car when we first started dating. That song transplants me to a specific place and time, and it's a good feeling.
I never got or understood The Stone Roses and in particular, the comparison to The Beatles.
I caught a documentary over Christmas on the recent tour they did when they reformed - it mainly concentrated on the fans, who no disrespect to them, seem to be all now pasty, middle aged and over weight heavy lager drinkers, including the ladies. Perhaps, I am being unfair. But even at the time, it just washed over me, perhaps it was that walk the fans use to have, a hunch and shuffle. But they were generally a couple of years younger than me, so perhaps I just missed it as my formative years were already over.
