I noticed a cotton trench coat made in manchester for £299.

Also a Harris tweed coat for same price. This could be a bit bigger but decent enough.

Worth waiting until the sale when they will certainly be discounted. I still have an old M&S trench coat from when they used to sell half decent stuff.
