They look ok, but the colours are a bit too loud for my tastes, plus they appear to be with forward pleat. Still the burgundy ones are decent, although for the same price I could get a pair of LEs imported from the US. And for the price of around 2 pairs of those, I could get a pair of O'Connell's, which is tempting.

Thanks for info. I really don't want to leave these to dry clean only - as that will mean they'll never get washed. All my dry clean stuff just gets aired on the washing line in my garden on dry days (all day usually) as I simply don't trust any dry cleaners. With corduroy I'd prefer to wash it, so I'll just do a cold wash and leave to dry naturally. I may or may not do a hotter wash before getting them taken up, as I know corduroy is terrible for shrinking.

I think O'C's are just covering their backs by making them dry clean only. I also bought a pair of their boxers, which look pretty decent - and they're dry clean only too. That really is taking the piss.

Unbelievable. I received some LE Trad fit cords the other day. I've tried them on to discover that nowadays even LE Traditional Fit equals a low rise. How the hell can that be traditional? I bought some only a few years ago that were a medium rise - not the real deal, but just about passable. The 2 pairs I've just received are over a half an inch lower on the front rise (and far too tight in that area, despite fitting on the waist and leg), which makes them pretty much as dreadful as every other pair of men's trousers out there.

LE will be receiving a livid complaint from me. It seems it is now impossible to find a cheap pair of cords that reach higher than the hips.

Just got a couple of pairs of these in the mail. Surprised at how nice they are. Fit well, sitting around the waist, straight leg. The Olive green is a great colour. A fine cord, traditional 5 pocket, levis/lee style. Good price. Recommend for knockabout winter cords!

Tried on a pair of J Crew 484 cords at a Goodwill and the fit was surprisingly reminiscent of some Maverick Lean Fits I once had. But the current 484s have a lower rise, wider thigh, and skinnier ankle.
