Bottle of Glenfiddich Single Malt and a bottle of Hendricks cucumber Gin - courtesy of a surprise visit from Scotland based bro.
What's the age on the Glenfiddich?
Out of all the premium gins doing the rounds, I am sorry to inform you fxh, that Hendricks is the most over rated IMCO.
Glen 12 years - both gratis - no complaints
I actually like Hendricks - I get small baby cucumbers and plonk them in it - healthy as well. And yummy.
Glennfiddich is another under appreciated one that I have looked down upon because of its popularity. All the pleasure I missed! Again, mea culpa.
Jim Beam Bourbon infused with real honey... This stuff will be the end of me!
Before dinner last night, I had an Old Tom gin on the rocks, you don't need tonic water with something this good:

As expressive and complex as a single malt.
Sadly, my missus was in one of her "I'm not tolerating this!" moods and the night deteriorated from there on in.
A pint of bonkers conkers autumnal beer in my local pub.
A glass of 20 year old port at home with Stilton cheese and Finnish crispbread.
St. Remy Authentic out of a tumbler.
Nice.
Heading for Mexican tonight so I foresee Cerveza.
Oh yes, Mickey's grenades will live on forever I believe.
The beer scene has changed radically in the past decade, no question.
Both the champagne and the glass should be chilled to a point that the bottle as well as the glass ist slightly frosted. The glass should be a tulip-shaped white wine glass. Fill generously. And in August, when in SW1, add some ice cubes.
BUT: last week I was served ok-ish "chilled" champagne in one of those dainty little champagne flutes made from something that almost feels like glass. Shame on you, ****** and ***** Club in Pall Mall.
Is there anything more stressful than moving house? Yes, moving your business address! Guaranteed to be filled with IT infrastructure and electrical gremlins, not to mention the horror of paper and Accounts archives that no-one seemed to have the inclination to bin anything since 1984. Commenced the shutdown of operations on Friday at 1PM, still in the new office at 10PM, all day Saturday and Sunday morning ironing the inevitable glitches, missing software licenses and codes, etc, etc.
Just poured myself an Old Tom Gin with Thomas Henry tonic water, I've earned it!
Hey Hep, your FNB mailbox is full.
I sent you an email yesterday.
Will be in Amsterdam Friday and will be staying at NH Amsterdam City Centre hotel
I hadn't forgot that plan, but alas despite my best intentions, there's no chance of me getting to Amsterdam on Friday or even Saturday now. The dark forces have conspired against me and I shall be in the Hague until early evening and on Saturday morning I shall be in the shadowy recesses of the archives of my company shredding confidential papers circa 1984 - 2007.
So very sadly, I must toast your good health from afar!
Balvenie Doublewood. My last pour from this bottle.
Recs for bourbons? I can drink a bottle by myself so please nothing ultra expensive.
