I'm not particularly defensive about old Rolf,  except to point out he wasn't well known in Oz at all prior to success in UK and wasn't all that popular,  or ubiquitous here after his success in UK.

His faux Australian shtick was annoying though. Clive, germaine and Humphries and Robert Hughes  didn't slap it on.

Re: Modernity and Fashions in Men’s Facial Hair

Australia is a fantastic place. It's natural beauty is unparalleled and has some of the most genuinely hospitable people I have ever come across. The one drawback for me is it's literally the closest thing on the planet culturally to America, outside of a couple border areas of Canada (especially Nova Scotia). It's difficult to go through all the gyrations to go to a place that is literally exactly the opposite side of the world, not just longitude, but latitude as well, and be so similar. But it's totally worth it. And I need to get to Melbourne and annoy fxh one of these days.

Edit:Canada, meh.

I have a propensity to go far places. Europe is wonderful, get there as much as I can.
