Re. Kool and the Gang - didn't Kool leave prior to Cherish etc? They did absolutely loads of heavy tunes before going wack, with breaks galore. NT is one killer tune from them amongst many.

Agreed. The Two Tone movement was a great statement of defiance against racism, however most of the music sounds poor to me. Particularly covers of ska or reggae classics, although I also dislike Too Much Too Young.

(Ghost Town is one exception, which is a classic and sums up the era perfectly.)

Yes indeedy - Pauline Black was the singer with The Selecter - these was also Rhoda Dakar who sang with The Bodysnatchers and occasionally The Specials. The ony tune I actually like by The Selecter ( and Pauline Black isn't on it ... or at least not singing ! )
