Latest Tailored Triumph?

Mine would be a cotton Slack jacket made up by Mr. Trevor, late of Leamington Spa. Unpretentious & flattering.

Bespoke or MTM, what was the latest thing that really went right for you?

There are far too few happy tailoring stories on the Net., it would be nice to hear some positive ones for a change.

Bespoke khakis, made in NYC, with lap seams on the sides, but what makes them extra-special is the fabric was sourced by my shirtmaker in Rome for the rare trousers he creates, harkening back to his tailoring days.  Knowing his taste level in cloth, the khaki material is over-the-top.

Sporty gabardine and twill trousers in various shades of beige and grey, made from a really nice range from John Hardy.

Re: Latest Tailored Triumph?

Along with the Hooked Vent, the Swelled Edge, the patch and flap pocket, the buckle-back cinch, I love the lap/lapped/welted seam.

Details, details, details!

What else shows that you actually know, love and think about all this stuff?

Re: Latest Tailored Triumph?

The Anglo Ivy fave was the old Brooks style - Stitched down with a clear line of stitching in the 'beaded' style.

Old 'Brooks Makers' Tweeds have this: See it in the 'Church' scene of the Dexy's 'National Pride' Vid. (You see it running down the back).

Most of Dexy's Ivy Style was Brooks, btw.
