and their new shop!!! I have been there a few days ago. They "re" "invented" themselves as a gentlemen's outfitter, with jackets and trousers in nice brown and beige colours, Southern German businessman ca. 1985. And the shop it flood-lit.

Re: Hilditch & Key's new website & product range

So, after a long-term scientific study, here are the results:

The new fit, which is supposed to be mid-way between their old regular and slim fit, is...slim fit, just like their previous slim fit. The inside label on neck level changed from white to blue. The buttons are better now. The cuffs seems to be more robust - the old range's cuff seemed to have excess fabric on the inside which made them very difficult to iron.

Most interestingly the cutaway collar has changed - the neckband is now higher (wider?) which makes the shirts much more comfortable to wear, as the pressure of the tie is now distributed more evenly (?).

Their new prices are ridiculous - but there will be sales, twice a year (and not twice a day like TM Lewins). On the other hand - maybe the high prices keep the igents away?

The shop is too bright and the salespeople are not comparable to, lets say, the chaps at the smaller C&J shop next door.

You'd have to be a bit barmy based on the website copy: "Please note all H&K shirts are now our slightly tailored slim-fit."

As you know, one's man's "slightly tailored" is another man's journey into corset training.

If the cloth is rare enough and I think I would get the wear out of it, I could push the boat-out for those prices, for one or two shirts I coveted. But I just couldn't do it for a sky-blue end on end, or some plain office blue poplin.
