Evan Williams vintage single cask- $37
I'm experimenting with bourbons mainly because single malt prices inch up every time I go to the liquor store.
Tried Bulleit, Four Roses, Woodford reserve, Jefferson's reserve, Noah's Mill and a few others, but so far Evan Williams takes the cake for me.
Have to say, overall prefer Rye Whiskies to Bourbon.
BTW, for entertainment value watch "The Whiskeybitch" for recommendations. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K0qkDA4eeig&list=UU9KvpJguJKK_GJbj92qsnAg
Cheap, but acceptable Paul Masson VSOP.
I've some Ultimatum 25 year old bended rum, I had two last night, quite disappointing too woody by far, it had clearly taken on the quality of the cask rather than the rum. The first bottle of this I had was superb, evidently this batch is not up to the same standard.
Now: Cutty Sark Prohibition Edition, with plenty of ice, a nice cheap aperitif whisky. Peppery with sweetness, like JW black without the smokiness. For 25 Euros I can't complain at all.
Cutty Sark is a guilty pleasure of mine. Even the cheap shit.
Sharp's Cornish Pilsner,voted 2013 worlds best lager.........
After a trip to San Antonio, Herradura añejo tequila. Had never liked tequila but a friend gave me a tour of premium tequilas. Basically, as with scotch and bourbons the taste in the older tequilas comes from the barrel but the sweet aftertaste from agave was pretty nice.
If you need lime and salt to down your Tequila do yourself a favor and Stop. Get a nice Tequila and drink it straight up.
Tried Casa Noble, Herradura, Avion, Clase azul, Dos Armadillos, and will appreciate any suggestions.
A good tequila is like a good scotch. You really have to know, and the batches can vary wildly.
I went back to the well last night, Jack Daniels Black.
$4 bottle of wine. After decanting it tastes at least as good as a $5 bottle.
Fernet Branca. To hell with that Fondue!

Nyquil, 2 weeks now. Shoot me, please.
Desperate, nasty flu but broke open a "Paddy" blended Irish whiskey. Apparently a big item with Boston old Irish (given to me by one such with utmost ceremony).
Has anybody here tried it? Seems OK but my smell is messed up.
I was addicted first time last nyt bt it was my first and last as it harms me nd may i be affected.
Paddy is in the bargain bucket price range for Irish whiskey, never tried it myself, but poor ameliyacain became addicted to it after his first session on it. So must be potent stuff! Purchased some Redbreast over Christmas, but sadly my herniated neck started playing-up and I'm on a mixture of Diclofenac and oral morphine so no alcohol for me at the moment.
Tea instead: Mokalbari Zomerpluck and some Sewpur Broken Orange Pekoe and with Lillyhammer available on Netflix its not such a bad situation to find myself in this weekend.
Last night a drank a tumbler full of George T Stagg from the 2011 BTAC release. Fucking impossible to find now as the whiskey equivalent to the iGent has chased it out of existence at most B&M stores..
Tonight I intend to drink 4 to 5 ounces of Glendronach Revival just because it was Christmas a few weeks back and this always reminds me of Christmas..
That's ruining it in my book.
Dr. Pepper
Stan's a pepper? I had him down as Foxon Park drinker.
Having just ground out 46 cents after an hour of poker, I think I am ready for a ginger ale.
