Received the new catalog from Davide Cenci and took note that they have opened a store in Middleburg, Virginia. Interesting, given the many other upscale towns in the US they could be situated in. Wondering if anyone has been to the new store.
Interesting. They opened and closed a store in DC in the early '90's.
I noticed in Esquire, in a promotional section, that Saint Andrews has changed its name to Saintandrea and that they list Davide Cenci as a vendor. The current catalog (unlike prior editions) lists no makers' names except the "Brigg's" umbrella (the only bargain at $150). Wonder who makes the cashmere donegal tweed jacket (at a mere $1995). Saintandrea? Cantarelli? It is nice. You can be the squire of Middleburg or Milan as easily.
Regards,
Steven
Quite a few of their ties are Drake's. When they have their semi-annual sale, these ties are marked down to ~$50, representing a great deal.
www.davidecenci.com > Products > Brands > Men > Saintandrews - Tod's - Malo are the only ones listed. D'avenza used to be a maker and Tanino Crisci.
Women > Belvest - Malo - Allegri - Colombo
What would you deduct?
Saintandrews is apparently in the process of changing its website from www.saintandrews.it to www.st-santandrea.it , Santandrea being the Italian spelling. The old web site had the option of Italian or English and the latter may have always been the Italian web address. Clicking on the former links to the latter. Saintandrews changed ownership in the Spring of 2006 from Cantarelli to an Italian textile company.

www.horsecountrylife.com may be a bit more M'burg-ish

I just gave away a Cenci Malo cashmere polo shirt. It pilled very badly. Doesn't have the quality of N Peal or Ballantyne. Does have the price.
