Will do. Wasnt me who started this here.
Apologies for the allegations of anti-semitism. I can't back it up. Just an impression I'd had from comments made years ago. As a self-loathing scouser I don't know what I'm talking about…
I do have dearly beloved family members from that part of the world (none of whom are thieves incidentally) but still, apologies to anyone offended.
I won't hear a word said about George Clooney. That man has the hair of a god!
It's a weave, and he's gay. Not that the latter is an issue, he types nervously..
That man has the weave of a (gay) god!
It's new-hip. Or neo-hip, for the fashion-conscious among us.
What in the fuck is wrong with all you people.

I'd put LCR up as my fav JP Melville, he certainly made a good film... probably just at that point where we tipped into the 70s but great never the less...maybe the tracksuits are a let down.
Rififi has got some great clothes in it as I recall. I can't recall details though. A classic, but the 4 French films from back in the day that I really love are: A bout de souffle, Tirez sur le pianiste, Bob le flambeur and my all time favourite Touchez pas au grisbi.
Le Samourai for me was a let down, even if the clothes weren't, I think I'd bigged it up too much in my mind..
If I can ever afford to buy a DVD again I'll follow your advice and go for Le Cercle Rouge instead of Le Samourai. (I don't do downloads.)
Ive got the box set somewhere I'll try dig it out its currently in storage.. Army of Shadows is worth a watch, again not for the clothes.
