Re: It`s the little things....

Checking the mouse-traps and finding them all empty...  A dead mouse is a heart-breaking sight.
I'd rather live in peace with the little fellows but Mrs Sparrow has her standards.
At this time of year the Harvest mice (beautiful golden creatures with bright eyes, long tails, smooth clean coats and white tummies) come in from the fields that surround my little cottage and they get into the outhouses and try to make new homes for themselves in the warm & dry.
I bait the traps with chocolate these days & find that you catch more mice that way.
You should never poison a mouse. That's just cruel.

Ramble...

Re: It`s the little things....

Nice touch with the chocolate Uncle jack - a bitter sweet end- for the mouse - so to speak.

I actually- use marmite on toast for my traps- I some times wonder if I should also lay on a nice cup of tea for them as well- but then think , it would just encourage the blighters.

" oh forget that house Barney this one further up lays on a cup of tea - with their snacks"

Then you have the rats- well thats a whole diffrent ball game!

Another small pleasure is when my legs are crossed and l get to see the stitching on the bottom of my leather soled goodyear constructed shoos.

Another pleasure is hearing rough edged vocals.

Another pleasure is sitting by an open fire watching old black & white Westerns.

Cold nights and warm beds.

Getting your tie length perfect on the first try.

Waking up early and not being tired.
