I have taken up painting again inspired by PM-ing Gomez, although he is far more accomplished than me.
And so I've been thinking about visual things and then clothes again (as usual)...
Male orientated pornography is always geared to visual stimulus, usually close-up shots. Market research proves that that sells best. Men are into the whole visual thing in a big way. It's a brain thing.
Female orientated pornography (what there is of it) is geared to context and scenario. It's all about creating a mood. Women like something more than just the visuals.
And I think that men and women dress in a similar way to this -
Men like to make a visual statement. Class. Power. Money. Whatever.
Women like to have a 'fashion story' in their choice of clothes. They dress like Breton Fishergirls, not to associate themselves with the sea but to buy into the romance of evoking an attractive culture. Much more sophisticated stuff.
And so Gomez and I must be quite typical men. Very visually orientated and therefore we paint.
Any other forum members agree/disagree with this?
Do you also have an interest in visual art?
Does it make sense that an aesthetic love of the visually beautiful informs your wardrobe selections whether consciously or unconsciously?

If you are correct, then men's fashion magazines are entirely planned & done by women stylists. Since all fashion "spreads" have some lame theme running throughout. Much is explained this way. Also, why men are dressed in the stupidest clothes in magazines.

The spice girls-girl power- and all that?
