16 oz. isn't bad really. Still I'd love that jacket in another cloth. But which? Any ideas?
Cactus mark -seems to have the right Idea over at Andyland- in essence he wants to know how a trad would wear navy trousers?
why?
well his wife bought him some navy socks- and as a result he now believes he has to build a trad wardrobe around his socks to include trousers and jacket.
all the usuall blah...blah...blah...blah in the answers submitted by the members.
but I have to admit- to liking the squires response.
"I don`t get it navy socks= navy trousers- is this a trick question?" (the fogeyness is perhaps stronger in this one than we realised)
Cactus mark - where is the GTH spirit - the rule that socks have to match trousers only applies over there.
wear navy socks with your khakis man, with your denim , with a dark suit- wear the navy socks- that your pretty little wife bought you with what the fuck you want- stop being so anal about it.
Perhaps she wants you to break all the rules - such as not having sex with your socks on -maybe she wants you to - because it reminds her of the rampant mid afternoon sex she has with the fedex delivery driver -whilst you are at work .
Who knows the reasoning of a woman?
Harris had a thread on 'beefy BDs' earlier on this week & somebody mentioned the 'Hyde Park' shirt from Landsend as beefy but scratchy, which indeed it is when new - However, it soon softens up with washing especially if you use fabric conditioner and it is quite a nice bargin priced shirt.
Double row of stitching on the collar instead of the proper Ivy single line, but what do you expect these days especially for the price?
Nice collar with a good roll.
'V' stitched pocket.
Nice weight of fabric.
Split yoke.
Box pleat
Locker loop.
Gauntlet button.
Harris might like to try one. I've had them in my shirt rotation since '88-ish (I think).
