Re: Recent Trad Aquisitions...

I had a jacket made up, for which I've promised pics.  Also another one to be made up I think at some point soon.

Bought a pair of Brooks formal shoes, which I'm not sure I'll keep.

Also considering buying a pair of the desert boots by Peal.

Bought some trousers and shirts from Ben Silver.  And a G-9.  On Sale.  They have a pair of green cords that I may decide to invest in.

In the sales, a couple of the few things I could find in my diminutive size:

tobacco-coloured poplin suit (having coat and sleeves shortened at the moment)

beige cotton wash and wear sports-jacket, undarted with patch pockets

(just in time for the foul weather...)

Languishing in the wardrobe since the spring sales and coming out anyday now: dark charcoal pincord suit.

Just unzipped the camel lining in my new/old Brooks G9...
It is tattersall underneath!

Nice.

Re: Recent Trad Aquisitions...

Sky blue 3/2 Brooks Brothers sack sportjacket made of oxford cotton with white Mother-of-Pearl buttons

shockingly available in a size 36s which fits perfect in the body and length but just need to have my tailor let down the sleeves an inch.

And it hasnt arrived yet, but Alden burgundy cordovan longwing brogues

oh yea, forgot about the white OCBD from Brooks Bros "Black Fleece/Thom Browne" line last weekend.  In a mythical size zero which apparently isnt available anywhere.

A pair of real tortoise-shell eyeframes. None of that plastic or "imitation". That's for the dollar store.

Horace, sale section.  Got it for $93 with the F&F discount.  I really like the thick oxford fabric and the color is something I've been wanting to add to my closet for a long time.  Your suggestion for the button is good.  I actually was thinking of using the MoP buttons on a different jacket and hadnt decided what to put on the Brooks sack.

Suede chukkas, been looking for a while. Nice Italian 3-eyelet ones on light brown, found marked down from an ambitious EUR 170 to a good value 80. Hey, and a C&A heavy ribbed cotton polo-neck in an arran colour for EUR 15.

Wore both today with dark jeans and charcoal chesterfield.
