notice too the "square" or if you'd rather "rectangular" bows, features on the recent Churchs made from Brooks.  That bow was the subject of some criticism but I like it.   

How tall was Sinatra by the way?


I like the Gore Vidal essay with the excerpt suggesting that he was moved to beat the hell out of someone at his club for not wearing a coat and tie.

I actually prefer the squared unpinched bows. I think they preserve a bit of that old Court Pump appearance since the semblance to a shaped buckle is not a coincidence.

Apparently, Frank Sinatra was 5'7" so perhaps those heels were advisable, or at least a stylistic affection. In th '60s, men's shoes did seem to have higher heels than what is "proper" now.
