Wensum...worth a try?

Long time reader, but first time post, looking for wise counsel.  My local (rather splendidly old fashioned) gents' outfitters run an MTM service using Wensum to manufacture their suits.

I popped in for a chat over the weekend and can get an MTM 2 piece suit in a Dugdale Town Classic 14oz worsted for just under £700...it sounds almost too good to be true.  In the past I have used Choppin and Lodge in the city, and have no complaints (indeed, I have a lovely Fox flannel blazer from there which is just about my favourite item) but a suit from C&L in an equivalent cloth is going to set me back nearly double.  On the basis that I am looking for a couple of daily workhorse suits I am very tempted to try the Wensum option.

I've read a fair bit on the typical iGent forums (not that I would categorise myself as one of their own) and frankly don't feel that much the wiser.  Clearly going to my usual shop is going to give me a better fit, but for daily commuter suit I am wondering if the better fit is worth twice the price.  Has anyone out there had any experience of the Wensum product? Any pitfalls to avoid?  I clearly want something that isn't going to look like I just rocked out of M&S, but don't mind a bit of compromise.

Grateful for any thoughts...
