Mods, I notice the automatic word changer has problem with G.P.S.
That's a good looking watch, but still too big in my opinion.
Very sexy pushers, though.
^At least we'll know their environmentally friendly!
At the risk of being a clueless fanboy, I will buy an Apple iWatch
Having now seen and felt the Seiko's Astron in person, some of them are quite interesting, but definitely a watch of the moment. Look much better out of the displays and the lightness of the titanium versions are wonder to behold. I am off to the Seiko boutique tomorrow to check out the Grand Seiko Quartz and the 300m Marine Master in person.
I turned against the Citizen F100's as they've already moved onto the F150 as replacement, but the aesthetics are not as stylish IMO.
Citizen Ecodrive is wonderful.
I have one of their dive watches which does a great job. Dive computers have replaced watches for many but I like the simple Ecodrive.
I would buy another if I saw a nice rectangular one with a leather strap. Current offerings a tad too large.
Never got into the multi function citizens either.
My old Seiko from earlier decades is still going strong too, From an era when dials were smaller.
My visit to the Seiko boutique in Amsterdam went ahead as planned yesterday, they also had the Cocktail Time watch in for €575. Hmmm, couldn't decide whether I really liked it or not, the face is large, not as bluish as I wanted it to be, but against the back drop of the Grand Seikos most watches are going to disappoint.
The Grand Seikos are truly superlative.....better get saving me pennies! The quartz version in the 37mm is actually too small, the bigger size would be needed which pushes the price up to nearly 3 grand. For a quartz watch sounds crazy, but this is unlike any quartz movement you've ever seen. The precision on the second hand as it moves is really quite splendid.
The Marine Master also lacked the wow factor, at least in the display, I didn't even get them to take it out for a closer look. When you can get the Sumo for €500, the cost of the MM at €2,350 doesn't seem worth it.
Again after looking at the Grand Seiko's the Astron range just looks tacky and the current vogue.
The Seiko Alpinist is a gorgeous piece.
I don't have terribly much hands on time with Lexus products in general, but the RX is a steaming pile of shit. Unfortunately Toyota in general lost their mind about 6 or 7 years ago and make awful cars anymore.
Quartz doesn't, but it did at the time when they were new, and with the Grand Seiko Quartz you're getting the ultimate in this technology.
By the way, amongst watch collectors the mechanical Grand Seiko watches are up there with the best of them. They know and recognize the quality, the sleek style with none of the bling that distracts from the modern Rolex.
