Well, I am 40 now. I have to change my mind... I will enjoy my Madras shorts and Rivieras shoes with a pair of fresh Argyle socks today. Tomorrow I shall pair my Nanrucket Reds and Clarks Musto with wool ragg socks. Muffy is also a fan, so...
You could always buy those secret socks Yuca, I have a few pairs for in loafers or CVOs etc. today, after my morning cycle ride - I'm goin sock less and I'm gonna post mahoosive white ankle shots. Hahahaha.
The guy in your profile pic has got the right idea.
Sockless with loafers - deffo!
However when this was spotted in my new local the comment was "you're not from round here are you?"
Anybody would think Derbyshire was the dark side of the moon !!
Hmmm, I am a fan of going sockless with pennies Chief but that last shot isn't doing our argument for sans-socks any good.
He looks like a sack of shit ha ha ha!

I love the last shot. The frayed ends of white 501s, the patrician mullet... Where's my scissors?!
I did have chocolate bass Larkins that went really well them till they spilt and tore up...
He could tuck his shirt in though...

Thank you WM. let me rephrase.
If he could tuck his shirt in, though...Worried Man would claim the look as his own.

Sockless is not very comfortable though is it? Apart from looking poncy.
You can try those cut down invisible socks I suppose.
Sockless only really works if your footwear is neoprene.

Sandal wearers? It is a different game.

The Rancourt camp moc is very comfortable sockless.
By all means.
A good, and very hetero, friend of mine complimented my khakis with sockless Weejuns one time. "Man, I just love the loafers without socks look." It took me by surprise, as this guy really isn't into clothes. Of course when I pried he told me it reminded him of how his dad used to dress during the summer.
Sockless? Apart from a pair of Dexter Washables I like to wear. I can't get away with it with any other shoe. I'm a fan of desert boots, chukkas and brogue boots, it would be inconceivable of me to wear no socks with them. Plus I'm, despite my best wardrobe choices, more a bearded Sad James than a Steve McCool ...
This thread has inspired me to sell off all my socks to you guys at a 200% markup. You obviously cherish them more than I.
I have to give a plus one to old Stanshall. Why is this discussed? There are definitely shoes that are meant to be worn sockless. Boat shoes, canvas or not - and all kinds of moccasins... o_O
