Unpleasant Summer Shoe

Which shoes are the best in rain and humidity?

LL Bean or Sebago (or, of course Rancourt or Quoddy if they are not too dear) blutcher mocs do the trick for me. They look alright and if you do a bit of waterproofing beforehand they stay in good shape.  Of course there's been a drought on in San Francisco for 4 years now so rain and humidity are becoming foreign concepts to me haha.

Re: Unpleasant Summer Shoe

I have a pair of Blucher mocs and due to the fact they're unlined they're cool enough..but I was looking for something a little bit smarter.. Bucks are fine until the heavens open then the suede which I know is treatable still pays a bit of a price..but more so those light weight red brick soles become nearly as lethal as crepe soles on the wet pavements

Look for a well constructed shoe (goodyear is usually fine) with corrected grain leather.  Of course CG is usually considered crap... and it usually is.  However, a decent CG leather shoe is great for the rain.  Anything with a heavier pebble or scotch grain usually works as well.
