Just purchased a new pair in 100% cotton that need hemming. I'm going to get em cuffed to be precise. The only cords I've had before have had a finished hem and this is my first pair for a good few years. Would it be best to wash them before taking them to the tailor?
I've had cord shrink dramatically. Wash and wash again is my recommendation, although it may well prove unnecessary.
Out of interest: who are your cords by?
Brioni.
I've had tehm run the gamut from no shrink to lots of shrink. No Brioni experience though.
Tricky one. Suppose its best to air on the side of caution then and wash em first.
The better the brand the less the likelihood - on the other hand better safe than sorry. You're machine washing them?
Incidentally I saw a good film recently that I think had Brioni clothing in: Le Conseguenze Dell'Amore. From 2004 and the central character is quite dapper.
I reckon, on a 40 wash with no soap I was thinking. Do you think a quick dunk in hot water by hand would be better? 12" rise, FFS don't tell WM.
I'll have a look for that film. I watched La Grande Bellezza a few weeks back. Quite funny, and sad. Clothes by Attolini, lovely clobber and some great photography, if you like that sort of ting.
I usually wash my Cordings cords on cold gentle cycle to no great harm.
