Re: WHY are you wearing...?

Weather cooler today so I went with gray flannels, frayed oxford cloth button down, brown leather belt, gray socks, brown wing-tips - I mean brogues.  Just because it's cooler.

Re: WHY are you wearing...?

Fire Engin Red Shetland from the old Alfred Snooker shop on Jermyn street. A little pilled now.
Blue Brooks OCBD with White T showing (M&S).
Khaki Cords (Bean).
Cordo Sebago Beefrolls.
Burlington Grey Argyles.

I'm popping into my daughter's school for a chat & I find that if I wear red it scares the teachers & they back down.
Also I like to lean forward across the table when talking - With a nose like mine this has the effect of an axe being waved in their faces.

One has to stay in control of the situation somehow...

Re: WHY are you wearing...?

I have just returned- about 1 half hour ago from my local - just for a couple of pints prior to supper.

pink spread collar shirt by Thomas Pink
muted green cashmere v- neck sweater
corn coloured cordoroy trousers with turn ups
brown suede chukka boots with dainite sole by Alfred Sargent
and Cordings covert coat.

pleasurable 2 hours spent chatting with the local-barflys (farmers -regulars and the village butcher- the post master called in briefly for a flyer)

Quite misty out tonight-but dryish- had a wander past the carpark at the end of the village on the stroll back home- but no dogging activity as yet- maybe have a wander that way - when I take the dogs out later.

Re: WHY are you wearing...?

Had a lovely day with my daughter today (Mrs Sparrow is away seeing her mother):

Burgers (We flicked fries at each other), and ate with our fingers in a place which played oldies like this one -

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UKMZ6-4bM_8

Then we saw Ratatouille & flicked popcorn at each other.

All day long we called each other by our secret names: Porkpie and Mr. Pong.

Very happy-making.

Pink J. Press flap pocket BD (Pre-Canada)
Woolovers Norwegian Sweater - Very nice!
Bean Canvas Khaki jeans
Camp Mocs

Porkpie wore stuff by Mini Boden.

Now she is in the bath & I'm catching up with a little work...

I think fatherhood is nice.

Re: WHY are you wearing...?

Had a great day and night (currently 4:01 am). Been writing songs with my band for hours and hours today: amazing songs have been coming out of all our ar**s all bleedin' day (they always do). Got some big hits for sure (some for us, and some to sell to other artists).

Wearing smart casual.
*  Medium blue jeans
*  Dolce & Gabbana blue cashmere blazer
*  Custom brown chelsea boots.
*  Vintage white dress shirt with black pinstripes (had it for 20 years).
*  White silk pocketsquare.

Re: WHY are you wearing...?

Sounds like old stock from Press, Archie - Well done!
Yellow sells slower than the other colours. Slowest, even?

The Hyde Park is a great cheapo shirt - Full of Ivy style & good value.
I'd add a 3rd collar button & lose the gauntlet buttons - They'd still save $s with that arrangement too!

Buy 'em, beat 'em up, & they're good to go. They're only a little stiff at first. Fabric conditioner helps a lot.
They come in different colours each year, or so it seems, so buy wisely. You can't go wrong with white, but if you don't like this year's blue or pink don't buy it. Next year's shades will be different again! Always check out the 'Sale' section of their website too.
I've Hyde Parks nearly 20 years old & you'd never tell. They wear very well (The secret to making shirts last is to have loads of them, btw. That's the only reason I've got BBs from '85 still in nearly perfect condition).

None of the above is due to 'Puritan frugality' either - Just being a style junkie! wink

Re: WHY are you wearing...?

Mid-Grey flannel 3pc 3-button (no vest this time, though)
White Hathaway french cuff shirt
Chess-knight links
Brownish/greenish (depends on the light) tie with small white stripes
Dark brown suede bluchers

Weather has finally turned to something like Fall around here (after a gloriously warm October thus far) with wind and drizzle -- seemed like the sort of day that needed a "nubbier" set of fabrics. Not cool enough for the vest yet.

Re: WHY are you wearing...?

Rignt now: Jeans, grey t-shirt, brown belt, wool ragg hiking socks. Why? No school today; studying at home.

For this evening, hanging on my door: pink OCBD, dark green wool knit tie, grey flannels, blue blazer, black captoes, black belt. Why? I'm gonna be wined and dined, and the last time I wore a suit to a soiree like this, I was overdressed for the crowd.

Re: WHY are you wearing...?

Tan suede chukkas, indigo socks, Land's End chinos in 'hospital green', blue and white micro-gingham shirt, orange shetland v-neck. Dreary and drizzly today, so a bit of a bright thang going on this Monday!
