Yes Tommy, don't they?

Chris and Lloyd are lovely chaps, and their move into manufacturing is more than welcome. Based however on what I've seen in the pictures I'd offer the following corrective to the gushing praise :

1. The jackets look long, definitely more L than REG. As an attempt to distinguish their jackets from the modern short silhouette I can see their reasoning. I'd only say this makes the jackets look more 50s Ivy than the Austins-era stuff which is so central to both of their love of Ivy. I realise the Ivy jacket evolved all the time but if I was to describe what seems to me to be the quintessential classic period Ivy style jacket it would be short and boxy, and certainly no longer than knuckle length.

2. Again, the look fluctuated, the silhouette was amended all the time, but as someone who loves that ultra-natural Brooks Brothers thing (yes I know sometimes they padded up a bit) and has a penchant for modern Keydge I thought H&J's jackets looked to have a pretty set-in kind of shoulder. For me there's too much shape there, I prefer that very soft slouchy look. Dare I say it but it looks like Ivy infused with 10% of that mod kind of look.

Just my observations, I'm sure the jackets will sell well ; the fabrics are great and both designers have excellent taste, but for me the ultimate contemporary Ivy jacket has yet to be made. The search continues, which for an obsessive will of course always be the case…

I can see my AM might think them long..the button stance looks low which I guess would make the overall style look long..I guess it'll vary between inviduals how the fit is, they look similar to my RL one with low stance which looks good with the top button done up, were as my Jpress and brooks looked better rolled.

As for the shoulders I can't see any stark issue..Tailor Caid shoulders look really wrong almost roped...the HJ look fine.. Keydge are so unstructured that I think some fabric looks right others less so..the herringbone ones I thought weren't the best quality fabric but on the lighter ones as a summer jacket they look fine

Going from that guys pic he looks a bit between sizes that jacket just scrapes passed being not overly large...the shoulder looks like it extends slightly passed and the jacket in the body looks long..but I would say this is more a fit issue than a jacket issue..the jacket looks in proportion.. I would say my only gripe is the top pocket...it could be slightly more angled but that's it for me.

Fortunate news for most of you guys are that the vast majority of you stand taller than me.

The fit is compromise: size 38 had better shoulder width but lacked the space in my upper back area. This is typical problem with my build - I have relatively "full" upper back. Shirts, jackets...sigh.

Spent the late morning/ early afternoon with Lloyd and later Chris, great company and very generous with their Knowledge. I only turned up to pick up my jacket and left not only with that, but a suit! I'll have to bring you gents the coffee next time?

It's a vintage grey flannel one, pictures will follow, although  I either need the trousers taken up or some stilts to get no break to my shoes... but the cloth is lovely and the jacket fits well? The lower half is a work in progress!

They do look good in the flesh, anyone get the blazer version and care to post pics?
