He's got a USP. Unless something better comes along then I'd vote for him. As I said earlier - I've got nothing to lose. Lots of people are in the same position as me.

You think Cameron and co. are more attractive/photogenic? You can find photos of almost all politicians looking gormless - it's called being over the age of 25. You think we should all vote for actors, models and pop stars instead?

As you know, politics is merely celebrity & fame for ugly looking people. The members of Red Wedge found this out when the 80s rock and pop stars formed an alliance with the extreme Left.

I don't think Cameron is photogenic either, he looks like what he is: a chinless wonder.

I believe the current PM or whatever their equivalent is in Mexico is considered by the ladies to be hot. One of my friends told me she knows people who voted for him just for his looks.

Also Obama looked cool in that Blue Note album sleeve thing someone did a while ago. In real life his inoffensive dress is a bit offensive but he is reasonably photogenic.

Not that it matters to me in the slightest.

This phenomenon can be seen quite clearly when some ladies get into the football pool (American version) and pick teams based on whether they think the QB is hot. And then they invariably win.

This feeling of loved-up-ness for handsome politicians cannot explain the mania for Corbyn.....

Re: Armani and the politics of men's suits...

As someone who has a broadly rounded view of politics, if this was America id describe myself as a Libertarian and probably Republican, more than Democrat, I would say Jeremy Corbyn is what is needed in order to balance a not just heavy right wing party but a government bending over backwards to make its friends money...lets face it politics is about interests...and rightwing does not equal bad if that goverenment protects the interest of its people.. right wing to me should be tough love but and as proved by Labour left and right wing dont mean anything when you have politicians looking to line their pockets through who lobbies them etc..Thats the only reason Blair got in what do you think he had to do to get Murdoch on side?

The problem with politics is not left and right it is the immoral government that sells out its people, thats why Farrage was/is popular and why Corbyn is. And probably goes to explain why Corbyn has actually been recorded as winning over UKIP voters, because it's about frustrations at mainstream politics and gravy train, money grabbing MPs.

Re: Armani and the politics of men's suits...

I've never known a time when the stock of politicians has been so low so it's not hard to see the appeal, particularly to young people, of someone who actually appears to believe in something and won't enter into slanging matches with opponents. If he wins the Labour leadership it will be interesting to see how he fares in opposition. At least with Corby and the SNP in the mix politics will become more entertaining than they have over the last few years. What could be more dull than everybody trying to occupy the centre?

When they say occupy the centre, it's a bullshit term...what they mean is get all the media on side, get big business onside...and then let the shafting commence of the brainwashed/unwashed, of which I include myself, well for the last bit

Well, I'd say if you aren't occupying the center then you are probably silly. I take pride in being an independent thinker, and that's where you will end up if you are intellectually honest.

But to formby's article, it's pretty well articulated. "Believing" in something has nothing to do with governing. The best governance is ruthless efficiency. I want a professional politician in charge of my government, local, national or otherwise.

Whichever way you swing politically, unless you're a member of The Young Trotskyites, there is no doubt that Corbyn dresses ineffectually to gain status as a conviction totalitarian world leader. The retired geography teacher who missus buys his clothes at man at C&A, or George at ASDA look just won't cut the mustard!

Re: Armani and the politics of men's suits...

I've been watching Corbyn closely in the media for several days now and it's all one endless parade of grey-beige-pale-faded-yellow cutaway shirts with a definite itch of polyester content and an aged white t-shirt underneath - it's quite an effective backdrop to his bum fluff, not quite a beard. He's no Mr McGregor from the works of Beatrice Potter. Although  he wore ties in the past he seems to have ditched the tie as a sign of working for the Bilderberg Group.

I would like to get-up close to him, real close, close enough to smell his breath. Those who have got close to Boris all remark that he has whiff of afternoon Port sessions, would Corbyn smell of Politburo endorsed vodka? Likely not, he's too clean, but no one is that clean. At least with Galloway, behind all the tea-total credentials, that visage, that face of lived-in-mischief, you know it only comes from a large diet of the finest cigars washed down with the rarest single malts.

I googled Corbyn - he even dons the Prinz-Heinrich-cap / "Elbselgler" hat that is so favoured by the commies.

Trump is an enigma, the man who has all his own hair and yet, it looks and interacts with the rest of his head like a toupee.
