A dash of apple cider vinegar with Manuka honey topped up with hot water - nice.
Not any of this stuff.......

Tequila summer for me. Reposados and añejos. Who knew?!
Anyways, if you can find Dos Armadillos Añejo, buy it.
Funnily enough, an old colleague of mine who I once did a bottle and half of the finest tequila in with before the other attendees arrived at a work do, turned-up at my office last week, he is now working for a client of ours. He is the same age as me, but the years since then have been unkind to him: he's had a heart-by-pass and was in a coma for 2 weeks, within 18 months his wife died of cancer and now he is bringing-up his son alone. He looked pretty well to be honest, under the circumstances.
Who would have thought back then that we would end-up in 2015 showing our operational scar tissues to one another?
Anyway, the party always ends, those who continue end-up dead and buried, or even worse. I loved those days, my 30s what a wonderful decade: romance, adventure, work in exotic locations, intrigue, a feeling of invincibility and immortality, even a plot from a thriller, plenty of fun and sex too. Money as well, I mean real money, for the first time.
Anyway, here I am still alive drinking a glass of Graham's Natura organic reserve port at €17 a bottle with some cheeses. It ain't rock 'n roll, but it's not bad at all!
Aldi had bloody Mary mix on sale for half off. I got a quart each of Sriracha and Spicy Chipotle Blend. Drinking the latter previously, and I am pleased that they deliver on the promise of spicy as this is hothothot stuff.
Remy XO tonight.
A rather tedious Saturday evening spent in a Japanese fusion restaurant that's decidely overrated and over priced, not forgetting slow service. Had some decent port when I came in though, Krohn's 20 year old Tawny, fine stuff and slept soundly.
More adventures in tawny port: Grant Burge 20 years old from the Barossa region near Adelaide. Fantastic stuff, seriously complex and rich.
Good idea, I might have one of them before dinner.
Gin, as always.
Had a pint of Adnams Old Ale last night in the Mayflower, Old Leigh. A good winter warmer on a grim, windy, damp evening. The pub also serves good fish and chips.
A few pints of Truman's stout at the Crooked Billet leigh on sea followed by a pint of Truman's three hops when the stout barrel ran dry. Decadent weekday lunchtime drinking.

I just sneaked a random portion of the lady's Absolut and then topped the glass with some flat seltzer. I'm desperate!!!
Kraken, 'Ting and lime.
Titanic plum porter @£1.99 a pint from the Wetherspoons festival. http://www.titanicbrewery.co.uk/p/titanic-beer-plumporter.html
Wonderful stuff that has won lots of gold medals! Not a session beer.
Also had Saltaire triple chocoholic whenever they had it on. That was even better.

Bought a bottle of that Thomas Dakin gin that Formby had, seriously good stuff. They had it the local Hanos for €36, which I thought was a bit pricey considering they had a litre bottle of Zuidam's distillery's Dutch Courage in for €21. We do seem to be living through a second gin craze at the moment, a bit more middle class than the last time though.
Had a session on craft ales on Friday night, an acquaintance wanted to see me a bout some "important developments" which turned out to be he had learnt to ride a motorbike and was buying one. How tedious and all the next day, I had one of those awful beer hangovers that linger on. Just can't get interested in beer these days, the price is always not worth paying the next day and the delights of the beer buzz have long since left me for more refined kicks.
I have been running through the town's supply of Sierra Nevada Hoptimum.
^Good stuff, those US super strength IPA's are much, much superior to their overly sugary European ancestors!
