you Know the more I see of this Ivy stuff- the more I`m liking it.
Great pics as always, Tony.
Keep 'em coming!
Here we go -
It was black guys wearing Ivy that first got me into The Look.
Chet Baker was my first White Ivy hero and it took me years to discover him.
Just sayin'.
Milt Jackson, John Coltrane, THEN Miles Davis. John Lewis was cool as F. too, to my young eyes.
London. 1978. Sloane Avenue, SW3.
Finding that other white guys like me love this stuff has been really nice. But why are they so uptight & uncool?
Makes no sense to me!

I've been watching GET SMART the complete tv series DVDs, and the Chief always wears nice tweed jackets with odd trousers, OCBDs and striped ties. Def an ivy influenced head of CONTROL
Maxwell Smart himself is always decked out in nice continental suits, in season 1 they are mostly 1 button with a waistcoat. Smart is smart!!
nice one button job on VDyke. Currently watching the "Get Smart" complete series on dvd and I never knew how sharp Maxwell Smart really was (of course I was a kid and didnt care about that sorta stuff). He usually wears one button suits, oftentimes a 3piece. The chief is classic ivy league style....always tweed 3/2 jackets, OCBD, usually repp ties.
^ Class photos #2 & 3 are Princeton chemical engineering, 1960-61.
The last photo is Queen's College (?).

Purely a PS -
I love all the different faces in these shots. The racial mix aspect of it all.
Forget all the blond-haired, blue-eyed, WASP cliches - look at the reality of the style...
It was for everyone!
Nice!
