Re: The Velvet Underground...

I've had a hankering for awhile now to do a smoking jacket out of one of those shiny jacquards.

Re: The Velvet Underground...

The jacquards are actually very revival historical goodness, but I have no idea what that black and blue printed check look is about.

Re: The Velvet Underground...

I like the shirt with that, is it bespoke or some Duchamp-like offering?

Re: The Velvet Underground...

What shoes and accoutrements would we wear with this get-up...?

Re: The Velvet Underground...

Chukka boots and some kind of musty green suit for the paisley shirt.

Re: The Velvet Underground...

I wouldn't wear any of it really, I'm not a fan of the Duchamp jacquard shirt look, I think Etro did it much better in the early 2000's.

Some good Paisley ties this season from Etro by the way, well worth a digsy.

The Velvet Underground and Nico. Played with the Exploding Plastic Inevitable. I saw it in Worcester, Mass. in 1966 or 1967

Re: The Velvet Underground...

^You're fortunate then, many of us only have those awful sounding bootlegs of the Velvets live of the period!

Did they have Super 8 movie playing and people getting whipped on stage against a psychedelic oil backdrop?
