...do need to take care to avoid the Castanza problem. On a short rump, there does not need to be much going on.
- No unusual shoes (= London tan, blue etc) or coloured socks (highlighting my short legs)
- No contrast collar and/or cuffs (making arms and neck even shorter)
- daring, I know: maybe even no pocket square (giving a remarkably low height reference point much lower than the short person's face)
- no slicked back hair (natural, slightly ruffled hair looks great and subtly adds some height)
THOUGHTS?
You're heading for the monastery!!!
Full disclosure: I am rather short than tall (1,75cm)
You're taller than Jimmy Cagney.

Contrast collars and cuffs can be quite casual if worn without a tie and the colours of the body and arms are erring on the more bold side of the street. Of course in casual in a way that you're going to stand out as someone with some substance compared to the rest of the heavily logo'd rugby top wearing dad on the school run on a Friday.
I really don't think socks will break a visual like in a meaningful way unless the hem is short.
You may be onto something with the contrast cuffs, although they aren't that common anyway and wear a coat.
I've heard to do the little triangle point pocket square and avoid the horizontal line of a straight fold.
Adding that bit of lift at the front of one's hair is simple, and one need not resort to dishevelment.
I am of the opinion that both the dinky and the rotund are best to avoid large patterns and bright colors. The former ends up looking gift-wrapped, the latter like a beach ball.
Winston Churchill used to wear a 'boiler suit' onesie overnight so that if woken in the early hours he could jump straight up and spring into action. As a short, rotund man it didn't do him any favours.
Michael Jackson used the Afro hairstyle to good effect, in his early days.
Higher waist trousers can make your legs look two inches longer. A shorter jacket (without going into bum freezer territory) adds the appearance of height while a longer one lengthens the body.
