I have read the Wapshot Chronicle, very very old New England stuff. Inspired by this thread, I picked up his daughter's memoir. 50 pages in it is very compelling. Interesting stuff about Ossining. A big house he picked up at a bargain and couldn't afford to keep up. well, like a lot of us.
