/\ cool ... love good Champion
that would have gotten some attention for sure, but I did not see anything like that particular combination either when I was in school or any other time, until now.
hard to tell what the real color of the duffle coat is but I swear nobody was wearing them '78-'82 and I remember this because I bought a regular camel-colored one at Andover in fall '82 and I was like the only person in Boston wearing one that winter
the floppy tennis hat? ... we were wearing baseball caps and knit ski caps ...... not recalling actual floppy hat wear at school
the tepee-motif sweater is more unwearable than not but it's still funny ... reminds me of a great room of dudes who were one year younger, they were a bunch of jokers, and they would wear goofy stuff like that on purpose, especially the one of them who looked so much like Spicoli ... ha ha ... loved those fools .....
I had a Norwegian sweater and a ribbed gray marled ragg sweater and an Icelandic sweater, as well as normal Shetlands, Shaggy Dogs, and lambswool v-necks but not any snowflake-patterned deals
if those stripes are from a rugby shirt, I wore rugby shirts a lot and loved them, but in school, not college ... I'd wear one now without any hesitation .....

Love that Champion catalog. Too bad they killed their reverse weave sweat shirts. Kellsport is the only way to go, I am afraid.
I think what I may have done then is Gilligan's Island with a duffle coat.
/\ that's the ticket Bop! but don't go full OTT Bean ... one piece at a time ... blucher moc/camp moc/Bean boot exception would be applicable however and those all are essential ....
I recently bought a Champion "Reverse Weave," the modern version. The fabric is much lighter, containing nearly 20% polyester.
My Kellsport, purchased a year ago, has a thick, heavy, and stiff fabric. Only now is the fabric beginning to soften.
/\ thanks Farrago
Someone bought me a Kellsport sweat last Xmas, it's a bit of a hybrid - crew neck with front pouch pocket (like a hoodie).
Very thick and warm, would prefer a saddle shoulder/raglan sleeve but great quality for the money.
It's difficult to beat the Goodwear sweats , great shape and if you're in the US a bargain.

It's worth checking the 'Specials' page on their site, sweats in burgundy and hunter green were 70% off last month
and there's currently a 'grab bag' offer on 5 shirts for $30, no choice in what you get but a bargain
