Re: The Jeremy Corbyn sartorial thread

In my view a lot of them are kept unstable because it serves outside interests for them to be unstable. ..if Africa was able to become organised...like the Middle East, with their resources they would become as powerful as America and China...in fact which main players were leading the move to the gold currency to dupe the dollar in the middle east and africa?  They didnt hang around for long as they pressed for the change

Bop, I'm quite willing to have a reasonable debate with you, but some of your responses leave me with the distinct impression that you are trolling.

And in accusing you of trolling, I'm actually being kind.

The world of plumbing revolves around pressures, structure and maths and set in stone measures and regulations. Its not for everyone...if you have a tendency to wonder off into a world of your own and fixate on doing things your own way you may be wasting your time trying to study it as a subject.

Just saying.

Re: The Jeremy Corbyn sartorial thread

African countries are largely run on a tribal basis which has been in existence for centuries. That was not going to be changed by a hundred years or so of European colonisation. Naturally outside influences are still at work but the problems of many African countries are caused by leaders who seek to exploit tribal/ religious differences to keep themselves in power. It takes centuries for societies to move forward, countries that have benefited from colonisation, like India, already had recognisable systems of governance in place before Europeans arrived.

If we raise the happiness level of employees by 28.23% we'll get a 153.788% increase in productivity and a 25.899% increase in shareholder value!

Nothing new here though as 96.45566% of the population already know that.

Now the real question is: If I wear long-wings will I be 25% more Ivy...?

It's still a caste ridden hell hole now, although very cleverly marketed. There's even communist insurgencies going in some of the states.

Re: The Jeremy Corbyn sartorial thread

I see that Corbyn has a new nickname: Jihadi Jez and that's amongst Labour MP's!

What a plonker, if ever there was a leader of a political party, thankfully in opposition, totally unfit for dealing with the urgency and terror of our times it is Corbyn. A born loser with a silver spoon in his mouth and indeed, his track record confirms this.

I have come to the conclusion that those who are betting on him, are the same as those degenerates using one arm bandits as a sure one way ticket to Nowheresville.

Also, he may well have had Jean Charles de Menezes in mind - a signal lesson in why having a "shoot to kill" policy for suspected terrorists is a very bad idea.

As Woof rightly points out - such a policy has never existed, and in fact such would directly contravene some basic tenets of the law (you know, the things we want to protect and hold dear).

But don't let any context get in the way of your preconceptions.

Re: The Jeremy Corbyn sartorial thread

My understanding and Woofboxer is in a better position than me to confirm or not, during the mid-to-late 70s in London there was an escalation of armed bank and security raids to an extent that in 1978 the police and detectives started shooting back to kill. The effect was to reduce armed bank robberies greatly. This may not have been official policy, but it was a tactical reality.

I grew up reading 2000 A.D. with Tharg's Future Shocks and Judge Dredd, so I have no aversion to rapid dealing with terrorists and perps by forces that act as police, judge, jury, and executioner. Preferably delivered immediately.

Re: The Jeremy Corbyn sartorial thread

Right, so an unofficial policy purportedly adopted by some coppers in the 1970's is something which the leader of the Opposition should condone in a television interview or he's a "plonker".

Oh and "shoot back to kill" is not the same as "shoot to kill" is it? Subtle, but... you know.

Congratulations, you've won the Daily Star award for incisive analysis.

Re: The Jeremy Corbyn sartorial thread

Interestingly, several of his colleagues have spoken out about him. Hardly a unifying influence is he?

He is also due to attend a meeting of the 'The Stop the War Collation' that until recently, he chaired. This is the very same organisation that recently produced an article headlined: "Paris reaps whirlwind of western support for extremist violence in Middle East". It as since, been deleted.

I think we can all deduce, Corbyn beliefs. He did, after all, invite the mouthpieces of a  terrorist organisation into the HofP for tea and crumpets soon after they had attempted to murder the British cabinet.

Leopards do not, change their spots. The belief that if we 'just talk' everything will be OK, is naive at best, and dangerous at worst. You cannot reason with psychopaths. 1939 taught only some of us, that, it seems.

Whatever his personal qualities, he is wholly unfit to run a country.
