I picked up a Sir Jac a few years back, it's a great beater jacket and often commented on. My version doesn't have the double button fastening, just a single but otherwise identical. Much lighter than a Baracuta - picked it up at a fill a bag vintage emporium - that was the day I stupidly didn't pick up a like new Botanny 500 triple patch herringbone sack, it was a 42 - but could have offered it to you larger cats on here?
That is a belting colour Oli, well done getting it down to a sensible price.
Interesting that the Sir Jac Harrington has Stewart Tartan (as opposed to Fraser tartan). I always associated that with the UK market stall/youth subculture type harringtons.
Lovely, Colin.
nice sport coat Colin! plus you can wonder for hours about the identity of "JPN" ....
my first thought was JP Norgam, followed by John Paul Noonan and then Joseph Peter Niedermeyer ... see what I mean? hours of fun to come!
Cool shirt, Bradley. That's inspired me to hit some thrifts today.
It's got a leather pull on the Talon zipper; only thing I'm not crazy about is that it has a partly elasticized waist at the rear sides, like the old English Squire style golfing jackets. Not a big deal for me though. Interior is unlined except for rayon in the sleeves. It has a hand stitched "wash and wear" label, so it's likely a drip dry cotton-dacron blend. I'm upgrading from my vtg '60s Sears brand cheapies and looking for one in navy as well, preferably not alpha sized. Btw, if anyone wants a minty McGregor Drizzler in the identical khaki color, sized 40 but sized small and fitting a perfect 38, shoot me a message. I'm looking to pass it on now that this is coming at me.
/\ it's cool, looks like a kind of oxford fabric ....
the elastic segments can't be seen from the front anyway ...
I have a mint English Squire, I'd wear it if I could ever find it ....
I dithered over that one myself, but think the 15 might be a bit small as usually a 15.5.
13" rise is perfect (for that size waist).
Funnily enough, I was going to send Oli the link to these, but couldn't find them when looking, seems he found them himself. ha.
Thanks for thinking of me, Tom!
I actually wrote the seller (he's based in UK) about a month ago requesting additional measurements and then somehow out convo slipped past and I never ended up responding, which I felt bad about. It wasn't until a friend and I were discussing old US army issue chinos the other day that it hit me, and I'm sure glad it did!
Acton, I'll gkadly post all measurements when the parcel arrives... very much looking forward to receiving them!!
