Oliver, I dig those boots SO much. Those are what desert boots should look like, in my opinion.
You sure they are 50s dessies? I'd say 80s by the sole style but might well be wrong, figured authentic 50s ones would have plantation crepe soles.
Birthday acquistion: Beautiful banker stripe PJs via O'Connell's from my beautiful spousal partner. She knows her stuff, this one.
Sock foiling of that style looks much newer to me and the logo/crest quite contemporary but they may well be 50s just from my archive of vintage and what we discovered from doing the exhibition I feel they are newer. They have a nice toe shape.
Well, that was my first thought, too. Yes, logo feels like older than 80s but the rest of the details says 80s to me, too. In Austria we bought cheapo knockoffs for aoround 30-50 euros that were somewhat similar.
The leather looks pretty good though. Fact is that they have always been very good in Spain doing Dessies but I think they haven't started doing them until the 70s or 80s...
They may not even fit... I'm usually an 8.5 D and I think I may take a 9 in Clark's; I took a chance based on the outsole measurements because they were cheap. Whatever vintage they are, I dig the shape a lot.
They do look like the sort of desies that were available in many a high street in the UK in the 80's - I should know - I bought a few. The sole gives it away - nice though - like the colour and shape.
The vintage be dammed Oli, i think they are a great pair of Dessies and what a great find.
I concur with AC. I think they're great.

Had my eye on this one too, but I think the price is kind of dumb considering the shape it's in: https://www.etsy.com/listing/263755027/vintage-1950s-wool-tattersall-vest-by
It also looks like it might be too thick to be worn under a suit or sport coat. Anyone else agree?
A few others I'd been watching:

I kind of prefer a plain splash of color contrasted with a dark jacket over the busier patterned vests, I think.

is it bold or subtle? i love the texture!
someone find me a vintage chambray or oxford cloth button down in a similar color as the blue stripe please!!
Subtle? Bold? Or just incredible? Nice find!
That'll just about do it, I'd say.
