As far as I can tell - from our very very limited interaction - Charlie couldn't care less about darts or tip-over lapels FWIW.
The Wikipedia 'American Trad' article claims that F Scott Fitzgerald was trad! lol

Jack, You keep recycling the same thread over and over and over again. You must be Trad obsessed. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em! That's what I say, chum.

There was no discussion really. I asked for a grey fabric - that was about it. It was a happier, simpler time before I started reading about clothes on the internet.
Larry took my measurements but Charlie for some odd reason - probably the fact that no one was ever in the store and that it was my first good suit - took a bit of interest in the project and took charge of the styling details himself.
I can't remember any discussion of styling beyond my indication that I wanted to show a bit of cuff, against some of their objections.
I've learned a bit since then and am no longer willing to pay that amount for a Southwick suit but I still stop by the store every time I go to Boston. Their Drake's ties are great and I enjoy talking with Larry & Charlie.
