Re: Clothes Attachments

I've got an ol' Brooks Makers sportcoat that I favor.  And one or two Andover ties that I wear all the time.  I've paid to have the coat refurbished. I've also paid to have patched a couple of old Troy shirts that I really liked that developed rips.  It's all part of the Tattered Trad, I reckon.

edit:  I also have a couple of very ugly shirts.  One Orvis shirt that seems, unfortunately, indestructible.  That was given to me.  A Cotton/Poly blend of all things.  But I wear it.

I'm not sure I have anything I'm not attatched to...
If I don't love it, I don't buy it.
I used to have 'almost right' things in my wardrobe back when I was starting out, but those days are long gone now.
Life's too short for compromises! wink

"symbolically, you're trying to transcend your own mortality."

Are they giving away psychology degrees now?  Considering that most of my clothes probably once belong to those now deceased, I'd say i'm suiting up in my own mortality.

Re: Clothes Attachments

*  My old Johnny Moke black ankle boots (10 years old and going strong...a really nice looking boot and very comfy and well fitting). l felt very lucky to come across these shoos/boots as l haven't found any boots as nice in this country again. l snapped up the two pair in my size.
*  My 18 year old Van Heursen red/whipe striped shirt (fits great and never wears out).

l tend to like things that last a long time, however l do have a small collection of designer threads that l admire because they are truely beautiful.
