The financial markets fluctuate on a daily basis but it is the trend over a year or years that is important, at least to me. I am surprised how resilient the FTSE 100 and even the 250 has been considering the political turmoil we are experiencing.
Mark Carneys intervention today seemed to me to be a political rather than financial action. Nearly all the financial experts got the prediction of the referendum result wrong so some short term instability is to be expected. I am shocked at the financial ignorance of some of the BBC and Channel 4 reporters. Some of them seem almost desperate for a recession to occur.
Some of the same reporters are saying that Boris won the referendum. I voted Brexit and would have done so whoever was on the Out team. Boris has always been an opportunist chancer and now he has been found out.

Foreign Secretary...... I saw this one coming a mile off.

I thought Boris was out in the wilderness, I do wonder now whether the whole thing has been a double bluff, pretending to want in when knowing all too well that the flashpoints and coming crisis will destroy the EU anyway. So best get a head start. Could be, in which case the Brits have played a blinder.

put Boris in a job where his 'spontaneity' is going to be met with a brick-wall of pre-agreed topics at meetings and fake'n'shake diplomatic bullshit.
He's being put out pasture for a few years until his knighthood and move over to the Lords.

May has even pulled a funnier one -Leadsome has been 'given' DEFRA, the real poison chalice of Brexit.
The farmers unions will hammer her into the floor when she explains their EU subsidies aren't going to be replaced by any UK Government payments.
