Apparently, he's "the man".
He does. He says it over and over and over and over and over and over and over
Ironic that one of my favourite song writers of all time Mr. Lou Reed penned probably one of the most annoying and awful songs of all time...Perfect Day.
Yes, "Perfect Day" is hard to take. Unless it's a put-on.
Meanwhile, I had completely forgotten about this inane ditty by Elton John, "I Guess That's Why They Call it the Blues." He can't be referring to the musical form. It must be the mood — sadness, despair — which is what I experienced when I heard it over the speakers at the Stop & Shop.
There was a girl in college I was sweet on, and she loved the wretched song, and played it all the time. It would have been a deal-breaker, if we'd had a deal.
The line about "Rolling like thunder, under the covers" was particularly irritating, since that was what I was failing to get going with this Laura person.
Ah well. Last I heard she'd been divorced twice and developed a nasty cocaine habit. Is there such a thing as a good, wholesome cocaine habit?

That's a sad story, Patrick. It makes me feel rather nostalgic, in fact. Damn, where'd I shelve Elton, anyway--E's or J's? Or C's... for my coke-addled hedonistic disco daze?
