Fogey revisited?

I notice a move to revisit past threads on AAAT. This brought to mind an idea for a thread. Lets see if others want to play along.

What if we compare Fogey with Trad? For example: A fogey would wear his crewneck jumper with a tennis collar tattersall underneath, perhaps with the collar points showing, whilst the Trad would pair his with the venerable OCBD. The color also, the fogey would prefer something somber, such as bottle green, whilst the trad would tout salmon pink, or kelly green.

Are the differences true, or am I making more than is present? Thanks for playing along. Please post your own favorites.

I, for one, would still enjoy a discussion about the clothing, regardless of AAAT.

Re: Fogey revisited?

Comparing the Fogey to the "Trad" one would have to point out that Fogey (although a journalistic construct on the whole) still has more to it somehow than  "Trad"...

It's more observation based than the wishful thinking which first brought "Trad" into being.

I guess this is because Fogey was based on primary sources and "Trad" is only an echo of an echo of an echo?

Remove the OPH and "Trad" is...?

Re: Fogey revisited?

The current ramblings of "what Trad means to them" has become sickening. Can we get back to the origins of the messageboard. The appreciation for a certain look? I think true Trad has more to do with Fogey than others a wanting to admit. Moreso than it has to do with GTH preppy.
