We have plans to make trousers in the future, but we haven't had enough demand for the high-waisted variety

Just a straw poll, who would want at least a 12" rise?

Re: HARDY AND JOHNSON

There's a market for them, I for one would also be more inclined to buy with a high rise. Interesting that there are places like the Armoury offering them along with others.

Is it a case of people don't know they are available or no demand?

Re: HARDY AND JOHNSON

Herringbone looks the most useful of the three.

A classic Prince of Wales black and white with a blue or a red overcheck would be good.

Also classic Donegals come in some wonderful colours (not just black and white salt and pepper). You could base a whole range on them. A far better tweed than Harris in my opinion( though they missed a trick with trademarks). Donegal can be used through a lot more months in the year. I still wear a non-Ivy Donegal jacket I bought in
Ardara years ago.

I have the blue H&J jacket. You cannot get more practical than that. I never did get round to replacing the buttons with metal blazer buttons though.

It fitted perfectly in Putney. Then I put it on a hanger and the next time I wore it there were divots in the arms. I steamed it. Still divots. Then after wearing it the divots disappeared and the divots have not returned. I still hang it up on similar hangers.

I wonder what that was all about?

Re: HARDY AND JOHNSON

^ I've found most natural shoulder jackets benefit from this style of hanger...

http://www.caraselledirect.com/_/caraselle_deluxe_matt_white_shaped_wooden_jacket_hanger_445c_m_wide_with_bulbous_sh.3109-1

and depending on the lining involved I put some of the fluffy side of some sticky back velcro on the shoulder bits of the hanger to stop slippage.
