"Trad" - Avanti !!!

Now were all cool with "Trad" being what it is (Something made up on the Net. by a troll in 2004 from a ragbag of influences) we should now maybe make it something  better... No?

"Trad" is OPH based -

This we know.

Now we can all admit it why don't we go full tilt & really use that book properly. What is the point of it otherwise?

There is LOADS in the Birnbach Bible which hasn't been mined yet - "Trad" should really do it properly page by page & enjoy it.

No shame in that & it would add to & improve "Trad" no end.

"Trad" has been held back by the need to pretend that it wasn't based on the OPH (Even though it was obvious to all that it was even from day one)...

The great news today is that as of last night here on FNB those days are all over - You can now enjoy the book without guilt.

Do so.

Let's see "Trad" really blossom under the influence of Lisa B.

The BS days are over (Thank the Lord!) - Now let's welcome the OPH days!

Perhaps a chapter by chapter breakdown of contents of the OPH?

I thought you and your chums were the basis for the Trad forum, not the OPH.  Anyway, the OPH is much better in memory than it really is.  Who the hell wears tape on their shoes?  OPH is Ivy's retarded doppelganger.

Re: "Trad" - Avanti !!!

Harris based Trad on the OPH - We only spread his word & added to it over on AAAC and later on AAAT.
Because H. was sensitive about claims that he was just re-hashing Birnbach we could never go as deep into the book as we wanted - The stuff that's worth bringing out is in bits like the Preppy Pantheon - I first got Auchincloss from there.

All these things should be tools at our disposal. I don't have an attitude about honestly exploiting anything. It's all good & all reflects different aspects of The Look. Harris only gets it in the neck, not because he fibbed, but because he fibbed badly. Troll, but troll well is my motto!

Best -

Never knew there was a car called that - I'm delighted!

The great thing with Trad is that it could be anything - Maybe an Avanti could be a Trad GTH car?

The thought makes me smile!

The Studebaker Avanti is a modern classic. As the name suggests, it was far ahead of its time. There was a reissue called the Avanti II during the '80s.

Re: "Trad" - Avanti !!!

There used to be a Studebaker ("Steadybreaker", as my father styled them) plant in nearby Hamilton, ON. I don't believe they made the Avanti there,  -- mostly Larks and Hawks, though I believe it was the last Studebaker plant operating when the firm ultimately failed.
