I had a relative that had a bunch of shoes like that. He's always start with the shoes. Buy two pair of the same in every conceivable color. Had some of them made up for him. He's build his whole "look" based upon the shoes. It was a crazy look but worked for him. Greens, reds, blues of all shades. Custom weird silk shirts, trousers, odd jackets. Sometimes socks one or two shades lighter than the shoes.
