Shame the owner ruined them by messing with the soles.
Cmon guys! He has "extended their life"...
I have done the same to some of my shoes...but that was in order to extend my own life.
I have just soled and heeled an old pair of USA Sebago beef-roll loafers, giving them a new lease of life so I don't see anything wrong in adding soles to a pair of shoes but I would never re-sole a new pair of shoes. I took a risk with the 'cobbler' I used but was pleasantly surprised at how good a job he did. For £22 I have a good pair of shoes that should last for a few more years.

Never worn Blakeys, the sound drivesme mad. Clippity-Clop Clippity-clop.
I love that sound. The v cleats and nails on old Florsheims make a similar sound that I also love. People know to get out of the way when you're walking down the street.
Exactly. It's actually a pretty dire film, but the shoes are great. And I found a holy grail pair of Florsheims recently - I will head to the appropriate thread to tell all.

Not so much an eBay heads up as opposed to one for London lads who may be in Covent Garden area. Saw this exact jacket in ROCKIT yesterday £15! Not quite as good nick but well decent for that price. Probably a 40/42 chest as it was just a bit too roomy for me hence my passing it up. Lapels seemed a little slimmer too but aside from that it is this jacket.
