Is honesty always the best policy?

So as some of you know ,on Saturday ( a pre ordained date) I voluntarily outed myself over at AAAC. they weren`t  coming close, for my honesty I recieved a ban.

Yet what do I see this morning but a thread going by the title Chicken or Egg (aka known as the thread with the black tie question), it would appear that every answer posted is trolling to  a greater or lesser degree.( if I bought a dinner jacket, where could I wear it, do I have to have an occasion to go to, to wear a dinner jacket) .

Where do they find these sock puppets .

1. Why would you purchase a dinner jacket if you didn`t have an occasion to wear it to?

2.Why would you wear a dinner jacket if the occasion didn`t warrant the wearing of the dinner jacket?

Is this going to be another rewriting of the trad history.

The trad rules say: rule 8 paragraph, iii subsection 4. the wearing of dinner jackets is permmisable any time of your choosing providing you are able to prove that you are pretentious enough to consider that every other fellow in your company is as equally pretentious and you are able to pass yourselves off as rich old money beneficiaries with access to a familly trust fund.

The rules also state:

Your dinner Jacket may not be removed prior to the serving of the meal under any circumstances.
" yo Biff  did you order the Big Mac or the quarter pounder with cheese"

Look if you have an occasion to wear a dinner Jacket, do so, but please don`t start creating inappropriate occasions just so you can wear a dinner jacket.

It ain`t right.

But TBD, by my count, at least 6 of the 10 posters on that thread ARE trolls, including the chap who started it.

It's these kinds of trolls who are not there to help the style, they are there to stir the pot.  Bring up old fights.  Support things that are clearly against the norm.  Ask inane questions.

The funny thing is, when an FNB troll asks an inane question on AAAT, he never ends up on the inane post of the day thread.

If Russle Street and Tom Bell-Drier were trolls, I welcome them.  They added to the mix.  These others only serve to drive away the few good people left.

TB

PS:  got the tumble drier thing, cute, but I just got the triple entendre of the name, "TBD" as in to be determined.  Intentional? If so, brilliant.

Re: Is honesty always the best policy?

Got to agree with you Boney this is the problem over there they are banning the wrong trolls.

Look back over some of the old Russell Street threads utterly charming, intresting and thought provoking also informative.

The Big name trolls they ban are actually benign, and more intrested in entertaining and spreading knowledge.

Its the crash and run trolls they have to worry about, not the ones who`s posts go into the many hundreds.

Lets face facts there are many from AAAC who post here, there are even more who look in to check out the threads including the Mods (we know this to be absolute truth).

One person is responsible for that, even if one believes it`s in a contentious way and that is, we shall call him Jack for the time being.

FNB gave him the space to do his own thing and we all owe Mr.Buff for that.

With regards to the TB-D thing -Bloody close old man.

Correct about the Tummble dryer thing and very nearly with "To be determined" you were certainly on the right track the code was actually "Tom Banned-December" ( it`s codes such as this that we keep track of pre decided events). You are the first outside the immediate circle to even come close to figuring it out- so big congratulations to you.

We learnt all this off Gommez who was the best in the Business and was brought in by a friend of a friend of a friend etc.

There is allways a clue notice how Bell-drier is broken with a hyphen , now who do you think overuses such a thing? cyptic but simple-no?

Notice how Tom  spells, allways now is there two "ll`s" in always but there is in Bell it`s just a case of breaking the code, take a closer look at the user names at AAAC you will start to spot things that weren`t obvious before.

You actually gave us a big old scare for a while when you started signing off T2B and then TB we thought you had figured it out.

Anyway as I have said before we think you are one of the good guys and you have much respect around these parts, You really should post more often over here.

BTW remember the pm in the summer, could have set up a meet.
